A number of GreenMountain Engineers are active in the local chapters of
Engineers Without Borders, an organization that partners with developing communities to improve quality of life through the implementation of
sustainable engineering projects. Recent projects they have worked on
include installing a hybrid photovoltaic system for a rural village in Haiti,
assisting a community in Tanzania with building a health dispensary, and
designing a cook stove for use in Darfur.
GreenMountain has provided mentorship to startup companies
competing in the California Clean Tech Open since its inception in 2006.
Mentors advise teams on technical and business matters, including how
to test and analyze their technology, improve their business plan, grow
their team, form partnerships, and prepare to meet venture capitalists.
